Do you suffer from constant Bad Breath? Have you been diagnosed with periodontal or gum disease?
We have the solution you are looking for.

Dr. Alyssa Fisher and her team at Tooth Acres Dentistry are very pleased to offer the Fort Wayne community the breakthrough OraVital® System. If you are suffering from severe halitosis, we understand what that means for you and your social life (or lack thereof). Maybe you have started to shy away from social situations, family gatherings, have started to smile less, or have started to keep your loved ones at arm’s length… All of these scenarios limit your happiness and involvement in YOUR LIFE. Maybe bad breath isn’t an issue for you now, but as your diagnosis of gum disease progresses your oral health could deteriorate further.
Halitosis is not a situation of having garlic for lunch and tasting it for several hours later. Halitosis, as a condition is not necessarily only due to a lack of brushing or flossing. Sometimes regardless of how meticulous one brushes and flosses, you may not be able to rid yourself of bad breath or periodontal disease. Actually, in our office we have found that patients who now they suffer from severe and constant bad breath actually have excellent oral cleaning habits… but that’s not solving the problem, because it’s not the habits that needed to change. In a study done on the matter, 75% of the population has experienced or suffers from some version of halitosis or periodontal infection or disease. These conditions cannot be treated by over the counter rinses, mints, gum, or generic throat sprays. Sometimes you might succeed in hiding the problem for a little bit of time, but the odor and bad taste will come back, and sometimes you are the last to know. These conditions are caused by an infection, beneath the surfaces in your mouth. This infection stems from oral bacteria that are incredibly resistant to everyday oral health care practices.
That’s where the OraVital® System come in. This system is a unique, patent-pending, painless, easy, and very effective way of treating bad breath and gum disease. Effectively treating these conditions helps not only with the bad breath you are experiencing, but further helps break the links between gum disease and your risks for heart attack, rheumatoid arthritis and diabetes.
Your relief and escape from bad breath and gum disease is as easy as 1, 2, 3…
1. Firstly; you will come in to our office and be evaluated by our OralVital expert specially trained in examining your oral health, finding dental abnormalities, measuring pockets in your gums and assessing how much your gums bleed etc. This assessment along with a full history or your dental/family/health information is helpful in determining the proper treatment. A swab of your mouth (throat, tongue, gums and saliva) will be taken to determine which harmful bacteria is causing your specific condition.
2. Once the assessment is complete and the harmful bacteria has been isolated, our dentist will recommend the proper pairing of rinses and antibiotics that will help treat, eliminate and protect your mouth. This pairing will of course be dependent on your individual test results. Once the initial treatments have done, the dentist will want to see you back in the office for a re-evaluation to ensure your condition is improving. At this visit, the dentist will adjust anything they see fit or move you in to the “Maintenance” phase of your oral care.
3. The maintenance part of your care is routine dental checkups with our office along with home care where you take good care of your teeth and gums. These actions combined with the use of our OraVital Maintenance Rinse should help STOP the cycle of gum issues and bad breath.
OraVital FAQs
What is OraVital and how does it work?
OraVital is a treatment designed to target bacteria and biofilm in the mouth, helping prevent gum disease, tooth decay, and other oral infections. It combines antimicrobial agents with advanced oral care techniques to reduce harmful microorganisms while promoting healthy tissues. Your dentist applies OraVital as part of a comprehensive hygiene routine, often alongside cleanings or other preventive procedures. By reducing bacterial load, OraVital supports long-term oral health, minimizes inflammation, and helps maintain fresher breath. Regular use under dental supervision enhances effectiveness and helps patients maintain a healthier, more balanced oral environment.
Who can benefit from OraVital treatment?
OraVital is suitable for many patients, particularly those prone to gum disease, cavities, or chronic oral infections. People with diabetes, weakened immune systems, or a history of periodontal issues may see significant benefits. Even patients with healthy teeth can use OraVital as a preventive measure to reduce bacterial accumulation and maintain gum and tooth health. Your dentist evaluates individual risk factors, oral hygiene habits, and medical history to determine if OraVital is appropriate. The treatment can complement daily oral care routines, offering enhanced protection against bacteria-related problems and supporting long-term oral health.
How often should OraVital treatments be performed?
The frequency of OraVital treatments depends on individual oral health needs. Treatments may be recommended every few months for patients with a higher susceptibility to gum disease or cavities. Those with lower risk may benefit from less frequent sessions, incorporated into regular dental check-ups. Your dentist assesses gum health, bacterial levels, and overall oral hygiene to create a personalized treatment schedule. Consistency is key: following the recommended intervals helps maintain a healthy oral environment, prevents disease progression, and enhances the effectiveness of other preventive measures, such as regular brushing, flossing, and professional cleanings.
Are there any side effects associated with OraVital?
OraVital is generally safe and well-tolerated. Mild temporary effects, such as slight gum sensitivity or a mild taste in the mouth, may occur but typically resolve quickly. Serious side effects are rare. Patients with allergies to any components of the treatment should inform their dentist beforehand. Your dentist monitors your response during and after treatment to ensure comfort and effectiveness. OraVital aims to reduce harmful bacteria without causing irritation or damaging healthy tissues. Following the dentist’s instructions and maintaining good oral hygiene minimizes any potential side effects while maximizing the treatment’s protective benefits.
Can OraVital help with bad breath?
OraVital can improve breath by reducing the bacterial buildup that often causes halitosis. Oral bacteria produce volatile compounds that contribute to unpleasant odors. By targeting these bacteria and maintaining cleaner oral surfaces, OraVital helps control odor at its source. Regular treatments, combined with proper brushing, flossing, and tongue cleaning, maximize results. Your dentist may also recommend supplemental care routines or at-home products to maintain freshness. Patients often notice an improvement in breath immediately after treatment, which continues with ongoing use, supporting oral health and social confidence.
How does OraVital support overall gum health?
OraVital reduces harmful bacteria that can lead to gum inflammation, bleeding, and periodontal disease. Minimizing bacterial load allows gums to heal and maintain proper attachment to teeth. Treatments can improve tissue resilience and reduce irritation caused by plaque and biofilm. Your dentist monitors gum health and may combine OraVital with professional cleanings or other preventive therapies to optimize results. Over time, consistent care helps prevent bone loss, recession, and other complications associated with untreated gum disease, supporting long-term oral health, function, and aesthetics.
Is OraVital suitable alongside other dental treatments?
OraVital can be safely integrated with other dental procedures, including cleanings, restorations, or cosmetic treatments. Its antimicrobial properties support oral health and may improve healing after certain procedures. Your dentist evaluates timing and compatibility to ensure optimal outcomes without interfering with other treatments. Using OraVital alongside routine dental care helps maintain a balanced oral environment, enhances gum and tooth health, and can extend the longevity of restorations or cosmetic improvements. It is designed as a complementary therapy that strengthens overall oral hygiene and promotes lasting dental health.
